MVM Rt. – The company with diverse and wide-ranging responsibilities
The primary task of MVM Rt. is the public utility wholesale activity, which means purchasing power from the power plants and selling it to the electricity supply companies in sufficient amount to meet the actual demand of public utility consumers of the country. The other core activity of MVM is the transmission of electricity, which is performed on its own high voltage network (750, 400, 220 kV). At the same time, MVM Rt. also carries out the necessary transmission tasks for international power trading.
At the same time, MVM controls the most significant group of electricity companies and it owns the only nuclear power plant in the country. The company operating and establishing the high voltage transmission network is also a member in the Group. One of the leading trading companies on the competitive market is the subsidiary of MVM as well. MVM is also the majority owner of several CHP companies and through its subsidiary operates the reserve power plants to ensure the reliable power supply in Hungary. Over and above this, a number of companies providing energy services such as engineering are also members in the Group. |
